Pest Summit of South East Asia Encouraged by requests from their members for more training and information on the latest developments in the pest management industry, the Pest Control Association of Malaysia (PCAM) and the Singapore Pest Management Association (SPMA) decided to pool together their resources to organise the first regional pest summit "Global Innovations & Modern Techniques for Urban Pest Managers" in Langkawi, Malaysia in September 2003. This turned out to be a run-away success, attracting 307 participants from 19 countries. |
| At this pest summit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the association presidents from Malaysia and Singapore, agreeing to continue with this spirit of cooperation for the next 5 years. This signing was witnessed by the the association presidents from Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.
As a follow-up, a second pest summit was held in Singapore in August 2006 and the theme was "Targeting Zero Infestation". It was another success, attracting 566 participants from 20 countries. At this pest summit it was decided that such an event be held every 2 years to help the industry update and upgrade, and it be rotated amongst the 5 countries in South East Asia. |
True to the declared intentions, the third pest summit will now be held in Bangkok, Thailand in August 2008 with a very topical theme, "Global Warming & It's Impact on Pest Management".

Response to this coming event has been very good so far. The organiser, Thailand Pest Management Association (TPMA), is confident that given the list of prominent speakers, it will set another new record in the pestsummit series
